Charles Childers - Director
Charles has spent the last 23 years in the communications space, much of that time as a
senior executive with the BCE family of companies. His various roles included Chief Marketing
Officer at Nortel Networks, President at Bell Canada and President at Nortel Networks. Charles' last role at
BCE was as CEO of Teleglobe, a $2B global carrier/ PTT. The last 3 years Charles has worked in the venture
capital backed start up world. He has consulted to multiple companies and worked as CEO of metro optical start up Photuris.
Kory Fagan - Director
Kory Fagan is an Investment Director of Direct Capital, a highly-regarding New Zealand venture capital firm. His background is in venture capital, private equity, and investment banking - with key roles including General Manager for Brent Wheeler & Co, an Auckland based boutique investment banking firm and Manager at Ernst & Young heading up the Business and Intangible Asset Valuation service line. Current directorships include Momentum Energy (electricity) and GFG Group (payment solutions). Past directorships include, GeoSmart (geospatial solutions provider), Climate Coatings (powdercoating of wood products), eCargo (freight management software), Integration Management (interconnect billing software), and Datacap (document management and digital image processing).
Terrie Lloyd - Director
Terrie Lloyd is a 49-year dual-national of Australia and New Zealand, who
has lived in Japan for 24 years. A "self-made man" in the truest sense, he
formed his first company on a working holiday visa at the age of 25, in
Japan, and has established more than 12 companies since then. He has had 4
successful earn-outs: LINC Computer sold to EDS in 1995, Web division sold
to Chinadotcom in 2000, Layer-8 Technologies spun out to ThetaMusic in 2003,
and DaiJob Inc. sold to Human Holdings in 2005.
Currently Lloyd runs four companies and is director and/or shareholder in a
number of others. His main operation is a systems integration and incubation
firm called LINC Media, with approximately 70 staff, headquartered in Tokyo.
His other interest is a publishing and consulting firm called Japan Inc.
Communications, with 12 staff, also headquartered in Tokyo. Japan Inc. is
the publisher of the Japan Inc. magazine, Japan's only English-language
business quarterly, and the www.japaninc.com website. Lloyd's companies
specialize in advising and assisting foreign companies with sales/marketing,
market entry, M&A, and IT infrastructure in Japan, and the overseas market
development for Japanese technology firms.
Andrew Lark - Director
Andrew currently serves as Chief Marketing Officer at LogLogic, a start-up providing breakthrough technology for collecting, storing and analyzing log data from systems of all kinds. In parallel with his leadership role at LogLogic, Andrew plays an active role as CEO of Group Lark - a consulting firm advising enterprises on strategies related to Web 2.0 projects.
Andrew was previously a senior member of Sun Microsystems' global marketing leadership team following a successful career at Nortel Networks where he led all corporate marketing and communications and was chief marketer for Asia Pacific. Andrew joined Nortel from Fleishman-Hillard, the world's largest public relations agency, where he was a senior vice president and partner. Andrew holds a BA from Auckland University
Mark Edwards - MD
Mark joined No 8 Ventures as Director in May 2002. Prior to this date, Mark had a 20 year operational career in the computer industry in the US and the UK spanning the systems, software and OEM sectors.
His responsibilities ranged from sales and marketing to product development, strategic planning, IT and mergers and acquisitions. Most recently Mark was the Senior Vice President at QLogic Corporation (a very successful NASDAQ-100 and S&P500 company) with responsibility for the Computer Systems and Switch Products Groups.
Prior to QLogic, Mark was Vice President, Sales and Marketing for the Storage Systems Division of Unisys. He also held a number of sales and marketing positions with Unisys, DEC and Zitel. For No 8 Ventures, Mark is currently a director of Esphion Ltd, PayGlobal Ltd, English To Go Ltd and EDIS International Ltd.
Mark is a foundation sponsor of the University of Auckland Spark entrepreneurial programme and an advisor to World Vision on Micro Finance.
